In the Shew News: Nicholas Kirkwood’s Most Expensive Shoe Ever

If you’re in the shoe news business, than the name, Nicholas Kirkwood, rings a bell. He’s known in shoe designing business for making and developing shoes that some would only dream or imagine. But for Kirkwood, that’s simply it–imagination. Kirkwood has been showing his latest collection this past week in Paris, and there are two memorable shoes that stand out from the crowd, ones we felt, needed some extra blog attention and possible discussion from an outside crowd, because well, we think they’re quite the conversation starter, if you will.  The first: “Don King”, a black leather platform sandal with a stiff, stand-up ruff of black goat hair. Goat hair? A ruff? Most items people wouldn’t dare place on a shoe let alone think it was possible. But now you know–it is, or at least in Kirkwood’s shoe world. The second, has quite the reputation already bubbling around it as the “Most Expensive Kirkwood Shoe Ever.” For $7,000 this classic futuristic-looking platform sandal is  fully embroidered with gold-hued metal thread, inspired by a Moroccan slipper. It’s got to be the embroider, right? Maybe it’s infused with real gold. . . wouldn’t that be quite the touch? Want to stay on top of more shew/fashion news? Then keep your eyes resting on this blog, and maybe a few times, slip over to style.com.
