Rachel Comey: Sample Sale + Our New Style

We wanted to make sure you were all aware that there’s a major Rachel Comey sample sale going on TODAY. If you’re at all a fan, or maybe even one of those die-hard ones (like us), RC is giving her stuff away for up to 60% off. Includes clothing, accessories, women’s and men’s shoes! It’s taking place here: 335 West 35th Street, 7th floor, (between 8th and 9th avenues.  When you have to go: 5 to 9 p.m. If you find anything good be sure to let us know in a comment or on Facebook.

Now to get down to the REAL business: our newest RC style to hit the store. The Bounty Hunter! The shoe is incredibly light even with it’s stacked wooden heel. The black and evergreen nubuck suede offer a nice contrast and with the lace up and cut-out design the shoe has a lot going on. And on top of that, the studded toe cap adds some rough n’ tough to an otherwise delicate shoe. ( Note: our style in the store, actually has a cream toe cap, and not black. Even more contrast for your fancy!) We always love the fact that her shoes are made in South America too, a nice touch. So for $360 we love this heel as a different alternative for a New Year’s party. You’ll be hunted down for your très chic chausseurs.

Cat Call for Kitty Boots

Look out people, there’s a comfy boot on the loose and it’s prowling the sidewalks! It’s the “Kitty” boot from 80%20 that has found itself on to our store’s shelves. The pale black (yes, it really does seem like it’s grey) leather is soft to the touch but hardy enough for NYC streets, because after all, the designer herself is local and designs shoes made for walkin’. It’s only $192 and pairs up with tights, leg warmers, jeans and could even be part of that upcoming New Year’s Eve outfit. Start prowling in these and see if you get any cat calls while sporting them. . .

Geometric Shoes: The Eliotte

We’re not done bringing in new styles even though the season is already wrapping up. Oh no, we’re still trickling in a few new styles for the holiday season, because we know you might just end up with some extra cash to spare in the next month or two. So we’ve added a couple more from our favorite local designer, 80%20.  It’s a popular style for the season, the Eliotte, back in a geometric pattern. Soft faux hair is the outer material and still has the brand’s signature hidden wedge. It’s a vamped up desert boot with some flair fo sho, and for $162, you can get your pattern walk on.

New Converse Store Alert: NYC

Incase you hadn’t heard yet, we wanted to give you the head’s up that Converse has opened a new store here in the city, in SoHo, only the second retail space for the label. When you stop by, they have on hand an entire custom-design station, staffed with “customization maestros” where you can hand over your chucks, watch them feed them into “what looks like a giant, industrial espresso machine, and 20 minutes later, voilà: custom Chucks, patterned or printed however you want them.”

Don’t forget Converse also makes men’s & women’s clothing, which the store stocks, as well as a new series of T-shirts shouting out NYC boroughs and neighborhoods. In case your curious about the design and decor of the store it keeps in line with the brand’s sports and rock ‘n’ roll heritage.  It’s decorated with “reclaimed bleachers (with names still carved into the wood), subway tiles, basketball scoreboards, and chain-link fencing. There’s even a giant American flag—made of 648 pairs of red, white, and blue All Stars.”

New Booties to Rock

There’s still time to get some booties and beef up your closet with the much coveted shoe style for the season. And in response to the need and overwhelming response we’ve had so far, we’ve added the Bass Fabricia bootie to our stock. It’s got a cute checkered flannel fold-over and total comfort for the foot. The black suede pretty much goes with anything, and the best part about Bass, their price: $99.

If you’re not into flannel flair, then we’ve added another color to our Indigo Water Row stock: taupe. Still the same price as our black and cognac at $120, but it’s a lighter color touch to the foot with still the same soft suede material. Come and get your pick of booties before they’re gone!

New Brand, Vintage Shoe Co.

Our newest brand, Vintage Shoe Company, which we just can’t get enough, has us calling ourselves “suckers” all over again for their Congo boot style that we have for both men (called the Vincent, $245) and women (called the Vanessa, $235). Modeled after the Congo boot style worn by train engineers during the railroad boom of the 1800s, this rough n’ tumble boot has some great extra ankle padding and the hardy leather sole. Get on the real train, and wear the Congo style and a brand that sports real ol’ fashioned American spirit, made the U.S. of A way.
