Dolce Vita “Damita” Hits the Season’s “It Color”

There’s nothing more eye-catching perhaps than a red shoe, or boot, or sandal. And it’s becoming more and more popular and less of an anomaly. In fact, it’s kinda the “it color” we’re seeing for the season. These red suede Damita sandals from Dolce Vita are just the ticket to wear for an upcoming spring break beach trip or get prepared for the inevitable hot, hot season in the city. The detailed elements happening in this sandal though are what make it worthy of the $120 asking price: the cute lil’ buckle, the braided straps, and the last, but not least, the singular tassel (another big accessory trend for the season)–a nice accentuation to the arch of the foot. Red hot sandals for those sure-fire hot girls, so don’t go goin’ all black color questioning on us. We stickin’ with our red color-for-the-season guns, and ready for the feet to pop with color this season.

Dolce Vita Makes It Work with Their Tami Espadrille

Dolce Vita seems to keep doin’ it right and makin’ it work, as Tim Gunn says. But it’s true–take the Tami espadrille for instance. We chose this sandal for the upcoming season in a fun flirty green or in a keep-it-simple black because of a slew of reasons. One, DV by Dolce Vita prices sandals and shoes reasonably. For $82 the suede leather wedge is kept real with a REAL price, we all can afford. Second, we chose this sandal because it’s a heel you can actually wear and walk in. Obscene heels are hard to come by in the SM, we choose styles we would want to wear (even during our shifts) and what girls would want to wear walking out of the store in. Last, we’re head over heels (yes, pun intended) for the espadrille style–a lil’ bit of platform, a lil’ bit of wedge, and a lil’ bit of Raffia. The best of all worlds, and it works. The Tami looks good and works well.

A New Kind of 4th of July Sandal: Dolce Vita’s Tiaz

You’ve all seen them. The totally doted out red, white, & blue outfits to celebrate our nation’s Independence Day. It seems the general public likes nothing more than the chance to hang streamers, ribbons, and beads in the national colors for the big day of fireworks, and not only that, but they love the excuse to slap on and wear the grand ol’ flag. Well, we want to spice things up big time, and we think why not ditch the red, white, and not-so-hot blue color scheme for a more powerful look, something sexier? Something reallyyyy spicey and truly independent? Go for it with Dolce Vita‘s “Tiaz” wedge sandal! In a combat/fatigue or black color scheme, you’ll be the main memory of the day more so than those ubiquitous fireworks. If you’ve got some extra hundos spare, then the Tiaz is in your range for only $105.  Why not go to the your BBQ of choice and show up with your main dish and chips and this wedge? You’ll be all the more higher up in the crowd, and all the better to see those fireworks.

Dolce Vita’s Helix: The Rise of the Wedge, Part II

If you took the metro this a.m., then you’ll know why today is totally a “Hot Child in the City” kind-of-day. You know the great song by Nick Gilder from the lat ’70s? It’s gonna be a HOT one today in the city, and our next Dolce Vita wedge embodies and screams, “Hot Child in the City.” With all its studs, buckles, straps, zipper, and bad ass wedge height, if you start walkin’ around the city in the “Helix,” we think the song just might start following you wherever you find yourself walkin’. While the shoe is heavy with details, it is light in weight. And need we really explain the comfort that comes with this wedge? For $165, you can be THE “Hot Child in the City” this summer and start singing out loud and proud to the Gilder lyrics: “Danger in the shape of somethin’ wild/Stranger dressed in black, she’s a hungry child/No one knows who she is or what her name is/I don’t know where she came from or what her game is. . .So young to be loose and on her own/Young boys, they all want to take her home/She goes downtown, the boys all stop and stare/When she goes downtown, she walks like she just don’t care, care. . .”

Dolce Vita’s Hayden: The Rise of the Wedge

It seems this season, Dolce Vita can do no wrong when it comes to the wedge. Each one they’ve put out there, seems to be the most coveted wedge of the week for us. And we’re thinkin’ the Hayden is to be the next one. Wedges seem to keep rising and rising in height. The Hayden keeps the wedge height tradition alive and kickin’ that’s for sure. In a classic black, so it goes with everything, the Hayden is simple in concept: criss-cross leather straps and a zipper for detail gives some sexiness to an otherwise big hunk of wedge heel. But, slip this wedge on and you’re going to see the real reason by wedges are a winner this season: no breaking of the back. If done right, wedges give more support to your walk and keep you standing longer and taller with the arch shape and wedge support. We’re telling you the wedge is rising up in full force. And Dolce Vita is stimulating the wedge revolution. See what we mean in the next post, our part two of Dolce Vita’s power with the wedge–their most powerful yet.
