The Ease of Kork-Ease, Part I

Behold the brand, Kork-Ease. Since 1953, the shoe company that began from an idea born in Brooklyn, NY, has since made its way into the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s shoe collection, an honor only bestowed to 25 style of footwear. Kork-Ease, known for the two parts to its brand name, cork and ease, has never really gone away, but it’s still experiencing somewhat of a comeback. With wedges all the rage and simple ones at that, Kork-Ease, fits right in with the trend. With three shades of the wedge (white, not shown), the Ava (see the black one below) for $135 and the Bette (see the cork one below) for $140 are quickly being bought off our shelf (we’ve already done a reorder on the black one!). Everyone seems to want a piece of timeless style these days, so you’re going to have to act quick to get your slice of the Kork-Ease. Take it easy this spring/summer–you deserve it!

Bust Out in 2010 with JC’s Burst Hi

Ahhhh, New Year’s, tis the time for resolutions, yes? Or at least, tis a significant change in the calendar to make resolutions ( I firmly believe you can make resolutions any time over the course of the year, and shouldn’t necessarily wait until the new year to make one). . . and make you’ve already started thinking about some resolutions for your shoe apparel and fashion. Perhaps, you’re ready and willing to start off the new year with more bold items and statements? 2010 does have a bold sound to it in itself, so why not  bust out on the 2010 scene with this statement bootie by Jeffrey Campbell, the Burst Hi?

With a star studded pattern across the leather suede material and cute three buckle detail, people will have to stop and stare at all this shine on the street. With a side zipper, the bootie is easy to slip on and the heel height totally manageable. . . another resolution for 2010–make it manageable (life, fashion, and shoes–it all should be!).

Also, 2010 will probably still see a somewhat conservative side to spending habits, but have no fear, the Burst Hi is above all reasonable for its design and detail: $140.  A sure fire bootie to kick off the new year right.

A Modern Heel for the Modern Woman

At long last, the Industry “Mod” heel is here! This shoe came into the store a few months ago and before we could even blink an eye, it was gone! Lickity split, this heel was in and out of our store due to its popularity. But now, it’s back, and eager to be snatched up again. The asymmetrical cut-out combined with the cute side tie, plus the chunky heel, makes this a modern day shoe for those modern day women out there. Paired with tights, the shoe really shines in its design and has a delicate touch. With the design looking like it is fit for Anthropologie’s website, you would think it could very well be an expensive–but it’s not! For only $110, it’s a modern shoe steal! And what with the weather today, we all know there’s still some days left to wear this shoe for a party or two. And if you’re into secrets, we’ve got one for you: tell us the secret word (“Sop Brooklyn/Brooklyn Bonus”) and you’ll get 20% on Wednesdays until the 25th–on anything, so this shoe becomes less than $100! Give yourself a holiday bonus this year, you deserve it.

Your Sherling Dreams Come True with Sven Boots

Wake up because the real season has officially started, and it’s started with the arrival of Sven. Ever dreamed the dreams of sherling? Then it can come true with Svens. Uggs have got nothing on this Swedish brand of a boot. Svens for one hold their shape way better and with the wooden/foam combo for the heel, the boot stays cleaner too. Even though the suede-leather combo could deter you for winter days, but if you give these just a couple sprays with water proofing, you’re good to go for those below 30 degree days ahead.

All handmade in the US of A (Minnesota to be exact) these warm, cozy boots will keep those feet and toes from any chance of frost bite for sure. Going with the staple colors, we have the Fawn (brown) color and black in stock. The heel is comfort for the sole and combined with the sherling inside, it’s kinda like boot heaven when you think about it (& try it on).

Check out the detail stitching of the leather on suede. . .

Maybe you want to save a buck or two, then you can go for the short black Sven, it’s $355 and comes up only a little bit above the ankle and leaves more for a little leg to show off . . .
